Entry 15.0 - If the World's Gonna End Tonight

If the World’s Gonna End Tonight

If the world’s gonna end tonight,

Let’s go for a car ride..

I’ll quickly get the car,

Race to your house, near the park,

Won’t that be a wonderful start,

Start to the night, when the world’s gonna tear itself apart,

You’ll sit without putting the seat belt on,

With no fear, and a comical laugh, (Coz the world’s gonna tear itself apart)

Finally,

Its you, here by my side,

With literally, no end destination in sight.

Even if it’s the last night,

You sit there, lost in thoughts, like it’s any other of those countless nights,

Playing with your nails and humming to the music the car plays,

Soon, the network is gone, and now,

It feels like, this string of silence, is our only ally.

(You say)

Even if the world’s ending tonight,

Look how the sky burns with a brilliant light,

Your eyes constantly looking out of the window,

Observing the storm destroying everything in its sight,

(You say)

What to do now?

About the worries of future,

The worries of what feels right and wrong,

What would people say and parents think,

While driving into this oblivion, all this seems so small and imbecile,

At just 24 or 25, does it seem right with what I’ve lived like?

I doubt if all these matters now,

(making a bun of her hair)

(I say)

I hope all of this matters,

All these years and moments we’ve lived by,

All the memories and regrets, laughter and cries,

I hope that this moment does too,

(You still fiddling with the bun and your hair)

Where I can keep seeing you,

With no judgements and worries around,

Coz this is our last car ride,

And maybe, just maybe, I can say,

How I’ve always felt about you,

That, I see you everyday in so many ways,

The way your muscles twitch or the way you nibble your food,

The tones you use for different people and moods,

Or the way you’re playing with your bun right now,

At least there’s courage in me to speak about the smaller things, tonight.

You say nothing for a while and just me give a smile,

Saying, there’s no more time.

(I say)

I know it’s a little too late,

But we’ve still got tonight,

I hope we’ve got some more time,

And even if the world’s ending tonight,

Let just go for a car ride...
